Bernstein is old and petrified resin. This can be up to 260 million years ago and often characterized by the numerous inclusions of insects and plants from this period.
Many thousand years ago people discovered Bernstein as jewel and processed for the various works of art and objects. Already the Egyptians created amber pendants and other jewels, which are today still found and are invaluable. Some millennia later arose the amber room was given by Prussian King Friedrich I commissioned. The amber room was originally part of the whole Castle. Unfortunately failed but merely the room as such found and restored. Several unexplained conditions disappeared the amber room in World War II and could no longer be found.
